Saqib is one of my friends who is running an ecommerce blog. Discussing here his general content promotion checklist when he publishes articles on his website. He shares his post on

  • Facebook Profile, Page and Groups
  • Google Plus Page and communities
  • Twitter Account
  • LinkedIn Profile and groups

All his content promotion strategy ends here. Although, this is a normal strategy used by most of the seo experts but to get better result I always advice him to do something more than that. The things that I told him about content sharing procedure are given below;

  1. Write 5 – 6 or more catchy headlines, with short description and tiny URL.

  • Facebook Profile (Status Update)
  • Facebook Page (Post)
  • Twitter – 3-5 post over a week, use #hastags
  • Google+ – Personal and Company profile
  • LinkedIn Status Update
  • Pinterest – Pin all images (all epic content has images)
  • Instagram – Post 1-2 images from the post
  • Communities, Groups
  • Reedit
  • Tumbler
  • Dig
  • Stumble
  • Reddit

  1. Post on relevant forums and blogs, search the keywords included in the post and post comments
  2. Post on QA sites, find questions related to your post and add answers
  3. Suggest your post on Scoopit to relevant boards, jawad knows it
  4. On AHREFs, enter the link of your reference link from where you copied the idea and scan the backlinks.

a) See where the reference article is submitted and submit your post as well

b) Sent email to webmasters to place your link

c) See if there is any broken link, contact webmaster to update it with your link

8. Link to your new posts from older posts if applicable, this is called deep linking

9. See if anybody is doing webinar, weekly or monthly roundup on Google +, Youtube, drop your link there in the comment, and email them to include your link

10. Make PPT/PDF, Infographics for the post and share on these sites to get more views and traffic.

11. Turn your article into video and post on video sharing sites

12. Turn your post in MP3 and post

13. Track real time conversations on social media and forums and post your link e.g. use tweetdeck to monitor conversation on twitter
